Alexis Sanchez got off to the ideal start to his Manchester United career with a sumptuous performance during a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
The Chilean, who arrived earlier this week, took hold of proceedings from the start at Huish Park with a series of bursting runs and pin-point passes around the pitch.
He forged Man United’s opening goal with a ball inside for Marcus Rashford before claiming his first assist as the club’s new No.7 in the second half, sliding the ball perfectly into Ander Herrera‘s path to round off a swift counter-attack.
And Sanchez’s numbers from the game, in case it wasn’t obvious, reflect a performance of true domination from the 29-year-old.

The best player on the pitch by some distance. Sanchez’s name surrounded the build-up to this game and, from the moment it started, nobody could take their eyes off him, such was his ubiquitousness on the ball.
What impressed most, above anything, was the versatility of Sanchez’s threat going forward, popping up all over the pitch to deliver slices of quality where United needed it, leading a thrust going forward that, as late strikes from Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku revealed, wore Yeovil down bit by bit.
This really was men against boys, a case study in the Chilean’s capacity to add an entirely new dimension going forward, and above anything a cause for excitement for all United supporters.
