After ending their interest in English pair Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, Chelsea are now weighing up a loan move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, according to the Daily Mail.
Manager Antonio Conte is desperate to bolster his attacking options with a target man during the current window, and Belgian striker Benteke has emerged as an option for the defending Premier League champions.
It is reported that Palace are only willing to listen to a permanent move for the striker who has struggled in front of goal this season, managing just one goal in 17 appearances in the league so far.
However, Benteke’s form in the Premier League over the past five years with Aston Villa and Liverpool has been promising, managing 41 goals in the league with the two clubs.
The Eagles are themselves looking for attacking options in the window, with wide men Bakary Sako and Wilfried Zaha the only real goal scoring threats at the club so far this season.
They could cash in on Benteke in order to raise funds for a new front man but the likelihood of them letting him go on loan is very slim.
