Chelsea will once again renew their interest in Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone if Antonio Conte leaves the club this summer.
The Times reports that the Blues are not preparing to sack Conte anytime soon, but are aware of the tension behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
Inter Milan are also keen on Simeone, who spent two years there as a player. The Atletico boss is believed to prefer a move to Italy.
Conte has been very vocal about his disapproval of the club’s transfer business, putting his long-term future at the club in doubt.
The Italian is out of contract at the end of next season after he decided not to sign an extension over the summer, only an improved contract.
The Blues are wary that a deal for Simeone is unlikely and are also looking at Serie A duo Massimo Allegri and Maurizio Sarri.
Allegri was heavily linked with the Chelsea job before the Blues opted for Conte, while Sarri’s Napoli have impressed this season, finishing as ‘winter champions’, earning rave reviews for their style of play.
