Manchester United target Danny Rose prompted further speculation of a move away from Tottenham Hotspur after storming down the tunnel during his side’s 3-0 win over APOEL on Wednesday night.
The left-back, who has only managed five starts under Mauricio Pochettino since recovering from injury in October, suffered a cut above his eye against the Cypriot champions.
He was clearly eager to return to the pitch, only for his boss to inform him that Kyle Walker-Peters would replace him.
Rose then proceeded to angrily storm down the tunnel, clearly dismayed at seeing a rare opportunity to impress cut short, but Pochettino attempted to diffuse the situation after the game.

“Never the player are happy when they are going out,” he said.
“He had a big cut above his eye. The doctor say he need a stitch and it was impossible to play. He was frustrated of course because he was an opportunity to play in the Champions League but it was an accident and nothing more.”
This is by no means a unique, ground-breaking occurrence. Most players will react in such a way when they’re told they can no longer play in a Champions League game.
But you can be sure that, as Rose stormed down the tunnel and back to the changing room, his anger was only in part because of missing the last 20 minutes against APOEL. He cuts a surly, dissatisfied figure at Wembley this season – a demeanour that falls in line with the genuine frustration he appeared to express at Tottenham’s lack of trophies and competitive transfer business during an interview over the summer.
Above all, you feel as if he wants something more. And with Jose Mourinho reportedly placing emphasis on securing a left-back over the January transfer window, his predicament under Pochettino will be one to take note of over the next month or so.
