Scott McTominay has attracted interest from the likes of Leeds United, Preston North End and Bolton ahead of the transfer window, according to reports.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut back in May and has continued to feature under Jose Mourinho following an impressive pre-season, making his first Champions League start against Benfica back in October.
Mourinho clearly admires the Scot’s ability on the ball and recently made it clear that he would continue to give him chances to impress at Old Trafford.
But according to the Sun‘s Daniel Cutts, a total of five Championship clubs have expressed an interest in securing the youngster’s services.
McTominay has been a regular feature in the first team squad this season and a fixture in the match-day squad, making starts against Swansea City and Benfica so far this term whilst also coming on in games against Burton Albion and CSKA Moscow.
And while a move to the Championship, where he would be guaranteed regular game time, may be a tempting prospect, the uncertainty surrounding Marouane Fellaini‘s future combined with Michael Carrick‘s heart problems may prompt Mourinho into blocking any move away at this moment in time.
You can only hope that McTominay chooses to remain under his manager’s tutelage and continues to develop playing alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic at Carrington.
