The draw has been made for the first knockout stage in the Europa League and Arsenal have learned their opponents.
With that comfortable 6-0 win against BATE Borisov last Thursday, Arsenal concluded a successful Europa League group stage campaign.
The Gunners won four of their six matches, scored 14 goals and conceded just four to secure top spot.
Now, the draw for the first knockout round has been held with Arsene Wenger’s men learning their fate.
The list of potential teams was incredibly long and ranged broadly in quality. The likes of Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Lyon were all potential candidates, as were FC Astana from Kazakhstan and Ludogorets.
Finally, the draw was made and Arsenal were pitted against Östersunds FK from Sweden.
Östersunds FK are a relatively new club. Formed in just 1996, the team has climbed all the way through the leagues to success.
They are currently managed by Englishman, Graham Potter who spent his playing days at West Bromwich Albion and Southampton.
It’s a very good draw for Arsenal. Östersunds FK are one of the smallest clubs left in the competition and it will be a great away trip for the Gunners fans.
