Manchester United are tracking Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, according to ESPN FC.
Amiri has been thoroughly impressive for the German side over the past season and a half, with Hoffenheim’s fortunes taking a turn in recent seasons, partly due to his quality.
The Bundesliga outfit finished fourth last season, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Former-Germany under-21 international, Amiri is on the brink of breaking into his senior national side.
Man United are reportedly among three Premier League clubs tracking him after he’s netted four times in 18 appearances for Hoffenheim this season.
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are the two English sides allegedly competing with United.
Amiri is one of the Bundesliga’s brightest talents, breaking through at a young age and consolidating his place in the Hoffenheim first team quickly.
His contract at the German side lasts until 2020 after signing a new deal in June 2017, but Amiri’s club know they will face a challenge to keep him with United interested among others.
An attacking midfielder most of the time, the right-footed Amiri can also play on the left flank, cutting inside. United are hardly short f players with that quality with Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata.
Similarly, Andreas Pereira plays in a similar position to Amiri, is only slightly older and is a fantastic talent. His cost? Nothing. Amiri would likely cost a significant fee.
