Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs insists he’s not interested in the vacant Swansea City job after being overlooked previously.
The Welshman was linked to the Premier League side before but the Swans eventually decided with appointing American Bob Bradley.
The club now has a growing reputation for their lack of patience with managers having fired previous bosses in short spans of time.
Giggs was a huge part of United’s success under Sir Alex Ferguson and is perhaps used to consistencies having been a one club player to a manager who remained at the club for more than two decades.
The former winger has expressed interest in going into management but is yet to officially take on any role, instead preferring to wait for the right job to come around.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Ryan said: “No. I’ve spoken to them before, last time before they appointed Bob Bradley.
“I don’t know, I’m not in the club but obviously over the years [it has been] a really well-run club, [who] play the right way and are an established Premier League team.
“But it’s tough now, you see the teams down there. It gets tougher each year. They lost good players, didn’t they? They lost Sigurdsson, they lost Llorente, and probably never replaced them. That’s always a problem.”
Fans have claimed that Ryan Giggs is simply waiting for the Manchester United job to become available once more rather than take on another club.
The Welshman was initially on track to become the club’s manager with the board signing Louis Van Gaal in the hopes that he would succeed the Dutchman.
Van Gaal’s temporary achievements at United and his installation of Giggs as Assistant manager seemed to have everything running smoothly.
However, things went backwards at the Red Devils and Louis was soon sent on his way with Jose Mourinho brought in to replace him.
The Portuguese manager was open with rumours of Ryan’s ties to the club and publicly stated that the former player was only interested in one job at Old Trafford.
Mourinho reportedly offered Giggs a place amongst his coaching staff, deciding to keep his trusty sidekick Rui Faria as his assistant manager.
