Manchester United fans and Romelu Lukaku must be wondering what could’ve been after the club’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Premier League.
United were on the road once more and failed to pick up a crucial three points despite Lukaku’s impressive display.
The Belgian striker had perhaps one of his best games since joining the Red Devils but was let down hugely by his teammates.
Romelu’s link-up and hold-up play was in top form and the player himself was unfortunate for his colleagues inefficient finishing.
Leicester scored the opening goal of the game but Juan Mata was determined to turn things around singlehandedly with a brace until Harry Maguire scored the equaliser in the 94th minute and although there weren’t many positives, the former Everton man was a big plus on a poor night.
Feel sorry for Lukaku. His best game since arriving at Manchester United. Created countless chances and comes away empty handed. Cruel.

The only two players that should bet let off the hook are Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata. Both were superb tonight. Not their fault Manchester United have dropped points. #FullTimeLiam

Positives, Lindelof was better today, Lukaku was actually really good and should have had 2 or 3 assists if the others had bothered to turn up. Mata the only person who felt like scoring apparently.

You won't pass to lukaku, you wont score and give him assist. Bastards.

Lukaku had one of his finest matches in a Manchester United shirt, this time his teammates let him down. Shouldn’t be scapegoated.

Romelu Lukaku was absolutely superb tonight. Created two clear chances and had virtually no service for himself all night.

Romelu Lukaku’s recent rise in form is good to see after being scapegoated for much of Manchester United’s poor performances.
The powerful forward joined the Red Devils from Everton in the summer and is already the club’s top goalscorer of the season so far despite his short barren run.
Lukaku’s lack of service has often left fans blaming the player instead of his teammates for his lack of goals.
Despite his goalscoring touch going missing, Jose Mourinho insisted he was happy with the player and that the Belgian was undroppable.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic would likely wish to test the limits of that statement but it’s unlikely he’ll take over Romelu’s position as the club’s first choice striker.
