David Luiz holds crunch talks with Antonio Conte

Chelsea defender David Luiz has reportedly held crunch talks with manager Antonio Conte, with the Brazilian desperate to win his place back in the starting line-up, according to the Daily Star.

However, with Luiz’s current absence, ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho is monitoring the defender’s situation, potentially preparing an offer for his former player. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on the situation with the German outfit also keen on the Brazilian.

Luiz was left out of the Chelsea squad for the home fixture against Manchester United last month, with the reported reason being a bust-up with Conte, and he has only featured in one of Chelsea’s last eight fixtures.

With crunch talks believed to have been held by the pair, the upcoming Christmas period and January transfer window may well be an interesting one in regards to Luiz’s game time, and ultimately, his future at the club.
