Pundit Alan Shearer admitted he has been very impressed with Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku in the wake of the Belgian’s performance vs Brazil.
In the quarter-finals of the World Cup, the former Everton man was at the heart of his side’s 2-1 win which will see them come up against Paul Pogba’s France in the semi-finals.
Lukaku unfortunately couldn’t get on the scoresheet but is still in with a shout for the Golden Boot award after grabbing four goals in his first two games.
Shearer was blown away by the United star’s display against the tournament favourites but did call on him to grab a goal for the ‘complete performance’.
Romelu did come close at times and was even single-handedly dragging his side forward at certain moments but just couldn’t find the net.
Shearer: “Lukaku? I’ve been very very impressed with him. Pace, power, touch technique, bringing players into the game. It’s one of the best 45 minutes i’ve seen from Lukaku. All he needs is a goal and it’s the complete performance.” #mufc [BBC] pic.twitter.com/FaLOUYwMig

The Belgian’s incredible development over the course of the season hasn’t gone under the radar with the Red Devils’ fan base who watched in awe on Friday evening.
Lukaku was criticised for numerous things ahead of his arrival to Old Trafford such as his link-up play, hold-up play and even his first touch.
However, if it was enough to impress Alan then that’s a telling sign on just how much the complete forward improved in all aspects.
