Manchester United star Victor Lindelof has dismissed claims of him experiencing a turbulent season and insisted he learnt a lot from Jose Mourinho.
The Swede didn’t have the best debut campaign in comparison to some of his teammates such as Romelu Lukaku or Nemanja Matic but wasn’t as poor as others either.
Despite the excitement of United fans when Lindelof was signed, it quickly became clear that he would need a year to adjust to his new surroundings.
However, the centre-back grew in stature as the season went on and has impressed with his nation so far at the World Cup, gaining plaudits from the media too.
Hopefully it all helps the former Benfica man when he returns to the Red Devils ahead of the start of the next campaign when he could potentially line-up alongside Eric Bailly.
According to Manchester Evening News, Victor said: “I’ve learned a lot of things, it’s been a good year for me. I’ve been playing with a lot of good players and I’ve been learning a lot from my coach, Jose Mourinho, so there’s a lot I’ve learned this season.”
There have been plenty of rumours floating around on Mourinho’s desire to sign a new centre-back which wouldn’t be good news for any of the club’s current options.
Reports claim the Portuguese manager is on the lookout for an experienced, proven defender who can help lead a shaky backline over the course of the next season.
