Chelsea look set to miss out on Thomas Lemar in January with the Monaco vice-president refusing to sell the Frenchman in the new year.
The Mirror report that the Frenchman will remain with the Ligue 1 side until at least the end of the season.
The sales of important players is not on the agenda. We have never spoken (to Lemar or his entourage) about the possibility of a January departure.
Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the Monaco wideman, who has been key to the club’s recent success in Ligue 1.
Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also expressed an interest in the winger but have been put off by Monaco’s £88 million asking price.
Lemar was one of the few players not to leave Monaco’s title-winning side throughout the summer.
Kylian Mbappe left for Paris Saint-Germain, while Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva all earned Premier League moves to Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.
Monaco currently sit second in Ligue 1, nine points behind rivals Paris Saint-Germain.
