Marouane Fellaini has confirmed Manchester United have offered him a new contract at the club.
The Belgian has also revealed that he’s yet to decide on his future at Old Trafford.
Manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his concern that the midfielder will not extend his stay at the club after becoming increasingly important for the side in the last few months.
“Man United made me a contract proposal and I think they will make another one,” Fellaini told HUMO.
“I don’t know yet if I’ll accept it – we will see.”
Fellaini claimed that he and Mourinho gave spoken about his situation, though no agreement either way has been sorted.
“We [me and Mourinho] talked about it,” he said. “The coach is someone who respects the decisions of his players.”
United have been linked with a number of midfielders with Mourinho potentially considering replacements for Fellaini.
The Reds could lose Fellaini for nothing in summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal, with Turkish side Besiktas heavily linked.
They may choose to take a small, cut-price fee for the 29-year-old in January.
Having joined from Everton for around £27m in 2013, as David Moyes’ first signing at the club. He struggled under Moyes, was scapegoated under Louis van Gaal and struggled at times in Mourinho’s first season.
But since the start of this season, Fellaini has come into his own, become far more reliable and provided some important goals.
