Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed the reason why he has shaved off the beard that he was growing.
The Chelsea boss was quizzed about his clean-shaven face at his press conference ahead of the clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
The official Chelsea Twitter account revealed that the Italian replied:
My daughter told me I was looking older with a beard! I wanted to try a new look but yesterday my daughter killed me. She said, ‘Daddy, you look older with the beard’.
The manager revealed earlier in the month that he wanted to try something new but has now scrapped the plan.
Conte was then asked what his wife thought of the move to which he replied:
My daughter is more important than my wife.
The Italian was in good spirits ahead of the eagerly anticipated match against top-four rivals Liverpool.
The Chelsea head coach drew comparisons between himself and Jurgen Klopp’s management styles, both can regularly be seen frantically gesturing to their players from the touchline throughout games.
Both managers are expected to be frantic on the sidelines for the duration of the game, with Chelsea looking to close in on leaders Manchester City, while Klopp’s Liverpool know that a win will see them draw level on points with Conte’s side.
