Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has admitted he dreams of playing with France teammate Kylian Mbappé and Brazilian forward Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain.
Griezmann has been consistently linked to Manchester United for the last two or three years, and looked all-but-certain to come to Old Trafford last summer.
FIFA upheld Atleti’s transfer ban, and Griezmann stayed with the La Liga side out of loyalty. His form has dipped somewhat this season, but he remains one of Europe’s best forwards and United’s interest is certainly still there.
Yet Griezmann admitted he dreams of starting in a front three alongside Mbappe and Neymar.
Speaking to Telefoot, the 26-year-old said: “Am I dreaming of a front line with Mbappe, Neymar and Griezmann? Yes.”
Griezmann has 86 goals in 173 games for Atleti, but has never played professional football in his home country of France. He developed in Real Sociedad’s youth system, having grown up near the border to Spain. That may be an attraction of joining PSG in the coming years.
Whether United will go back in for Griezmann in January, when Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be allowed to play for Atleti after rejoining the Spaniards, or next summer, is yet to be seen.
The Reds have recently been linked to Griezmann’s Atletico teammate Saul Nigez as well as Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
