Spanish side Valencia CF are targeting Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian, suggest reports in Spain.
The La Liga side may make a move for Darmian in the January transfer window, though reportedly accept that may not be possible and are willing to wait until next summer to bring the Italian to the Mestalla.
Darmian joined Man United in 2015 from Torino and started his career in fine form before an injury broke his stride. He’s been utilised at left-back, right-back and centre-back but has never truly flourished. Some defensive performances have been impressive, but his attacking contributions have been minimal.
The fact that Darmian can play as a wing-back on both flanks impresses Valencia. His form for Italy has often been better than his form for United, strangely.
The 27-year-old has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford for sometime, and is reportedly also drawing interest in his home country.
Onda Cero suggest Valencia are currently considering a move for Darmian. He’s started just two league games this season, but manager Jose Mourinho is unlikely to let him leave the club for less than €20m.
