Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists his side’s defeat vs Manchester City was not a psychological or mental issue.
The legendary Norwegian oversaw a 2-0 loss to the club’s fierce rivals which meant they crashed out of yet another semi-final.
Had United beaten City, they would’ve faced Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup final, potentially getting revenge for the 6-1 defeat to them earlier in the season.
However, Solskjaer’s men will instead have to focus on the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League, having been knocked out of the Champions League dramatically too.
Some fans have grown concerned with how the Red Devils seemingly struggle when the pressure is on but the former Molde man has dismissed the reason.
Solskjaer on another semi-final defeat: "I don’t think it’s a mental issue. Tonight it was about that lack of quality compared to them, we played against a good Manchester City team, they deserved to win. You’re disappointed when you concede two set plays." #MUNMCI

Another one of Manchester United fan’s concerns was the poor defending from set-pieces vs City as their opponents didn’t play particularly beautiful football.
Both goals could’ve easily been avoided had it been for slightly better defending and it was the aspect supporters were most disappointed about.
There’s no point looking to who was at blame for either goal as they’re the type of effort that the team tends to concede far too often and is an issue that Solskjaer must address.
