Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained his decision to substitute Bruno Fernandes off the field during the stalemate vs Liverpool.
Fans looked to the Portuguese magician to lead the team to all three points vs their fierce rivals but unfortunately, he wasn’t at his best.
Bruno was substituted off the field towards the end of the match and was clearly not happy with Solskjaer’s decision to do so.
Mason Greenwood was the man to come onto the pitch in the hopes that he could spark a moment of magic to win the match.
The Red Devils were the stronger team in the second half and arguably would’ve deserved all three points had they showed a little more of a clinical edge.
Solskjaer on taking Bruno off: “It was a tactical decision, Bruno has been running his socks off every single game. Towards the end we thought Paul's physical presence might be a chance + Mason can score in a blink of a second. It was a throw of the dice.” [@lauriewhitwell]

Ultimately the decision didn’t create anything decisive but it was worth the gamble considering how the match had gone so far.
Bruno has been Manchester United’s best player this season as well but even he isn’t exempt from being substituted given how he wasn’t at his best on the day.
The former Sporting Lisbon man has been heavily overused this campaign and has shown signs of fatigue in the past few matches.
Supporters have long called for him to be protected but unfortunately United aren’t as good if he’s rested.
Manchester United have fielded some of the worlds greatest centre backs over the years, but how much do you know about them? Take our quiz below to find out!
