Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered good news ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match against Burnley, with two players having recovered from injury and two close to fitness.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game, the manager said that all four injury doubts – Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba Eric Bailly – had trained and could all be available tomorrow.
‘All of them trained today, Paul and Eric just didn’t do all of it but Luke and Victor did all of it,’ Solskjaer said.
‘So I’ve got a decent amount of players to pick from, so let’s see with Paul and Eric how they are tomorrow.’
The boss also confirmed that Edinson Cavani will return having completed his three-match FA ban.
‘Edinson’s trained well when he’s been banned, he’s ready to go,’ he said.
Burnley, meanwhile, have a number of problems, with Charlie Taylor, Dwight McNeil and Jay Rodriguez ‘touch and go’ according to manager Sean Dyche, who is also ‘waiting on news’ on centre-back Kevin Long, who rolled his ankle in training last week.
Goalkeeper Nick Pope has been declared fit but quartet Josh Brownhill, Ashley Westwood, Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Jimmy Dunne could be the four players that the club has announced are unavaible due to Covid protocols, leaving Dyche with potentially eight missing from his squad.
Manchester United have fielded some of the worlds greatest centre backs over the years, but how much do you know about them? Take our quiz below to find out!
