Manchester United star Timothy Fosu-Mensah will be the first one out of the club this January transfer window according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The versatile youngster seemed to be in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans once he reappeared out of the blue but apparently, that’s no longer the case.
Fosu-Mensah can play anywhere across the defence and midfield so he had the potential to be a useful squad member if needed.
He once seemed to destined for a starting XI spot when Louis van Gaal brought him over but that’s now a distant memory.
Fosu-Mensah is still young enough to establish himself but it appears all parties have agreed to move him on and so he’ll soon be plying his trade elsewhere.
The agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen for Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Ajax were also interested but he’s joining Bayer. Done deal and here-we-go soon. #mufc #bayer #transfers https://t.co/ZbNuMuCada

Fosu-Mensah is an Ajax academy graduate so it seems strange he chose to go to Germany instead but perhaps the terms there were better.
After all, the Dutch footballer is in desperate need of regular first-team football at this stage of his career.
His contract with Manchester United is close to expiring so it seems the club opted to move him on before that happened.
There are rumours they were forced into doing so after Fosu-Mensah turned down their latest contract offer.
