Manchester United legend Gary Neville has praised his former side for their performance over Everton in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men went through to the next phase of the competition by beating the Toffees 2-0 at their own turf.
United scored through Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial, though the pair of them left it late to win the match.
Neville feels that despite the sheer number of changes Solskjaer made to the first team, the fact the team picked up a win is a huge confidence booster.
Cavani and Martial will have to keep up their goalscoring if the Red Devils want to defeat their competitors and collect their first trophy under the legendary Norwegian.
Gary Neville: "There is a confidence growing in this Manchester United team – I won't just say team, I'll say squad because there were nine changes tonight. They got through it well." [sky] #mufc

Neville has tried to avoid being optimistic about the squad this season so it’s a compliment to them he was impressed.
The former right-back hasn’t been negative or overly critical but it’s clear he has his doubts over the squad’s title-challenging credentials.
Manchester United have played well in recent weeks and given how they’ve climbed up the table, naturally the topic of conversation was whether or not they can beat Liverpool to the league.
Neville has been pleased with their ability but clearly still feels they are not ready enough to challenge.
Edinson Cavani has made quite an impact since his deadline day arrival at Old Trafford, but how much do you know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
