Chelsea are on the verge of an agreement over the transfer of Kai Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen, according to a report in The Guardian.
The two clubs have reportedly agreed on a £90m deal with the Blues paying £72 million upfront. Havertz has already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea on a five-year deal.
The report also claims Frank Lampard is close to securing the services of Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, who has left PSG following their Champions League final defeat.
Much has been made of the speculation surrounding Havertz in recent weeks, with the 21-year-old attracting the attention of many of Europe’s top clubs but it has been Chelsea who have lead the pursuit for his signature seemingly from the off.
The German international has enjoyed a breakthrough two seasons for Leverkusen, scoring 29 goals in 64 Bundesliga matches, phenomenal stats from an attacking midfielder. His departure was inevitable when Leverkusen failed to qualify for next seasons Champions League.

Operating in a similar position to his potential new boss, the sky is the limit for what the youngster could achieve with the club.
Lampard has clearly targetted strengthening his attacking options in the early weeks of the transfer window with Havertz following Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech through the door at Stamford Bridge.
The attacking trio could soon be joined by Silva and potentially Ben Chilwell as the Chelsea boss puts the final pieces of the jigsaw together ahead of what he hopes will be a successful upcoming campaign.
