Manchester United supporters have called for Mauricio Pochettino to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the club’s 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa on Sunday.
The home side were once again directionless and devoid of tempo, taking the lead through Victor Lindelof only to be pegged back less than 60 seconds later in what was an emphatic illustration of the culture of mediocrity at this club.
Such a result leaves United in ninth place, level on points with Burnley and with just four wins from 14 Premier League games.
And with Mauricio Pochettino now without a job, it was impossible for United fans to ignore the benefits of installing the Argentine in place of Solskjaer.
Big clubs make big decisions. A world class manager is available and it has to be said it would be negligent in the extreme not to go after Pochettino.

Ole a lovely bloke and a club legend which has likely bought him more goodwill and patience than if he wasn’t. Started superbly and deserved a chance to be considered as permanent boss. Think it’s time to go Pochettino now, though.

Solskjaer: great guy, always be a legend, made some good decisions for club's long-term health but not providing evidence he's better coach than Pochettino to take things forward. Wonder where matters will lead if Tottenham/City games go wrong this week.

Solskjær has to be beating newly-promoted teams at home, rebuilding or not. It’s not good enough, Tottenham and Arsenal have deemed their managers work not good enough and we’re behind both.
If Pochettino wasn’t available, I’d understand. But this isn’t getting better.

GET POCHETTINO IN NOW!
This is simply awful I said it after Thursday and I’m here saying it again now, this team is quite capable to beat the likes of Palace, West Ham, Newcastle, Sheff Utd, Astana and Villa under a good manager.#OleOut #PochIn

I think Mauricio Pochettino is the only elite [available] manager who would carry on Ole's off-field rebuild whilst majorly improving the on-field product.
He'd be the exception — and he's currently unemployed.

You can see the merit in appointing Pochettino, for sure. The guy transformed a club that was at an even lower level than United and took them to a Champions League final – a level that United cannot even dream of.
But if things continue to go wrong, in the same way, even after a year, two years – well, what then?
The culture at this club is one of mediocrity. Pochettino would not want to go to a club like that.
To make things worse, he will probably join Manchester City over the summer.
