Manchester United reportedly plan to launch a bid worth £70m in order to complete the signing of Wilfried Zaha next summer, according to reports.
The 26-year-old was signed by Man United in January 2013, becoming Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing as manager, only to manage four appearances for the club ahead of returning to Crystal Palace in 2015.
Since returning to Selhurst Park, Zaha has matured into a lethal attacking threat as well as a talisman, prompting several clubs to take interest over the summer.
According to The Sun, United are frontrunners to complete the signing of Zaha, who is keen to leave Palace next summer.
Zaha pushed for a move away last summer, with Arsenal and Everton both showing keen interest, but chairman Steve Parish – much to the player’s frustration – stood firm in his determination to keep the club’s best player, mainly because the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to United for £50m precluded Palace from needing to sell Zaha.
Next summer, on the other hand, it seems as if Palace will not be able to stop Zaha from leaving, although it remains to be seen as to whether he views returning Old Trafford as his preferred next move.
