Manchester United reportedly believe they’re favourites to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho despite doubts over their own futures.
The sensational Englishman has had a meteoric rise in Germany with many top European clubs lining up to sign him following a streak of impressive performances.
It was previously thought that Sancho was near impossible to sign for United given his security with Dortmund and PSG’s interest growing.
However, that no longer appears to be the case with the dazzling youngster’s relationship with his club recently becoming strained and the Ligue 1 side’s interest cooling, seemingly since Neymar’s return to the starting XI.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would’ve thought he’d need some convincing to do given United’s potential lack of European football next season but even that doesn’t appear to be a factor anymore.
According to the Telegraph, the Red Devils feel they’re ahead of the queue lining up to sign Sancho next summer as Solskjaer’s made him a priority target in his bid to address the right-wing position.
While the talent of the sought-after teenager would be welcome, it does beg the question over where he fits into the starting XI and who would be dropped.
Daniel James has thoroughly impressed this season whether playing right-wing or left-wing and it seems his place is most under threat unless Solskjaer plans to play Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford up top together to squeeze all four together.
