Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at the type of players he’s looking to sign this January transfer window.
The winter market is notoriously difficult and clubs are definitely aware of the legendary Norwegian’s desperateness which will only further bump up the prices of his targets.
United currently sit in 12th place meaning any club they target to purchase from will take full advantage of that situation.
Solskjaer has proven to be tactical and calculated in the transfer market so far so it’s unlikely he’ll overspend to bring in players or that he’ll panic buy.
The problem is though that the Red Devils do need a player or two simply because they’re currently short-staffed let alone the need for quality.
According to Sky Sports, Solskjaer said: “January is a difficult window, anyway. But if there are players available and at the right price, I’m sure we will spend.
“There might be some experienced players who can come in and help the younger players – that might be worth the money.
“So it depends on who is available. I’m not going to go down the route of bringing players in on big contracts and big fees if they’re not the right ones for the whole group and for the future.”
Hopefully should Solskjaer find the right players then he’s fully backed and the board are competent in their jobs unlike in the summer.
The former striker had explained a Romelu Lukaku replacement was being signed but they failed to get the deal over the line.
The board have failed previous managers with David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all complaining about their ineptness.
There’s no point constantly finding the right players only to be let down by the board.
