Missed chances cost a poor Gunners side as they ran out 1-0 losers to newly-promoted Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Team News – Match Reports – Player Ratings
Match: Sheffield United v Arsenal
Venue: Bramall Lane, Sheffield
Kick-Off (UK Time): 20:00 21/10/2019
—–
Here’s how we rate the Arsenal players:
Bernd Leno – 6
He had a few shaky moments in possession but Bernd Leno had a decent match in goals. He made a couple of good stops in either half.
Calum Chambers – 4
It was a tough evening for Calum Chambers, especially in attack. The Englishman got into some really good positions but his touch and final pass let him down all night long.
David Luiz – 6
David Luiz put in a good performance at the back. The Brazilian seemed to be at the end of the majority of Sheffield’s crosses into the box and defended well throughout.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos – 5
He was fine. Sokratis had a decent night.
Sead Kolasinac – 5
He was fine. Sead Kolasinac spent most of his night moving forward which certainly worked in his favour. He laid a chance on a plate for Nicolas Pepe in the first half but it went untaken.
Granit Xhaka – 4.5
He was fine. Granit Xhaka had a steady game in the centre of midfield but was rightly replaced for more of an attacking threat.
Sub: Alexandre Lacazette (69′) – 3
Alexandre Lacazette probably isn’t match fit and he played like it.
Matteo Guendouzi – 5
It was a steady performance from Matteo Guendouzi. He was quiet in the first half but grew in influence as the match progressed. Things just didn’t work out for the Frenchman in the latter stages.
Joe Willock – 5
He struggled to make an impact in the first half. Joe Willock worked pretty hard but just didn’t see enough of the ball in the areas he would have wanted.
Sub: Dani Ceballos – 4
He was poor. Things just didn’t work out for Dani Ceballos despite his willingness to help the side
Nicolas Pepe – 6.5
It was a strange one for Nicolas Pepe. He had some moments of true brilliance – like setting up that first-half counter – which were offset by some missed opportunities and lapses of concentration. Had he scored that crucial chance then we’d be talking about a Pepe masterclass but it just wasn’t to be for him. Still, he was probably Arsenal’s liveliest player on the night.
Sub: Gabriel Martinelli (79′) – N/A
Barely involved.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 3
It’s unfair to be too harsh on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international had next to no service all night long.
Bukayo Saka – 5
Much like Pepe, Bukayo Saka had some moments of quality but they were offset by long spells of quiet and a poor final ball.
