Jesse Lingard will miss England’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Bulgaria due to an illness.
The 26-year-old, who has attracted criticism for his performances at Manchester United this season, missed Friday’s training session ahead of the game at Wembley.
Manchester United have predictably suffered a few injury problems during this dreaded September period, with Paul Pogba picking up a knee injury and Aaron Wan-Bissaka encountering a back problem.
It was confirmed by the Press Association‘s Simon Peach earlier today that Lingard had missed the game due to an unspecified illness.

The Englishman will be expected to recover in time for Man United’s clash with Leicester City on September 14.
As for Pogba, reports in France suggest that the ankle issue should only take ten days to fully recover from, while Wan-Bissaka’s injury – like many injuries fans don’t know about as well – is something he will be expected to play through with the right treatment from medical staff in between games.
