Harry Maguire produced a powerful defensive display as Manchester United claimed a clean sheet against his former club Leicester City.
The Englishman did not start the game brilliantly, misjudging a long ball which James Maddison nearly scored from, but his second-half display was excellent.
As Leicester started to dominate and press for an equaliser, it was Maguire who spearheaded United’s resistance, making some brilliant interventions to ensure that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side claimed their first clean sheet since the opening day of the season.
Maguire’s stats from the game tell the story of what was a commanding performance.

Winning 1-0 in a game like that, when both sides seem to do more scrapping than actually playing football, is nirvana for a player like Maguire.
There was one occasion when Demarai Gray broke down the right channel, with Leicester support approaching on the other side, only for Maguire to explode into a challenge and come out with the ball. Old Trafford roared as if it had just witnessed a goal. It was more than just winning the ball back; it was the sheer command with which he did it.
For a team whose core has often looked so uncertain, Maguire represents a wonderful constant.
