Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe has revealed a meeting he had with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer which decided where his future would be.
The English prospect has been linked with yet another loan spell away after a successful time at Aston Villa last season.
Harry Maguire’s arrival casted further doubts over Tuanzebe’s future but it appears Solskjaer had a plan all along.
The United academy product has impressed fans with his performances in pre-season with many feeling he should be ahead of the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
Time will tell just how involved Solskjaer will have Tuanzebe be in the starting XI but initial signs are positive.
Tuanzebe: “We had an in-house meeting with the manager and the coaching staff, and we decided it was best to stay here and continue my development here. I have always wanted to play for Man United and, especially this time around, it is a good time to stay and fight.” #mufc [MU]

It’s likely for Tuanzebe to have any kind of success at United then Smalling, Jones and Rojo will all need to be moved on to create a pathway to the first-team.
Many expect Solskjaer to partner Victor Lindelof with Harry Maguire meaning this could leave the 21 year old and Eric Bailly to provide competition.
However, having Smalling, Jones and Rojo as options not only bulks up the club’s wage bill but it also means the legendary Norwegian is risking a disruptive dressing room atmosphere as players become unhappy with a lack of minutes.
