Paul Scholes has explained just how Paul Pogba can regain the trust of his Manchester United teammates following his public flirtations with a move away.
The talented Frenchman had been linked with a move to Real Madrid after admitting it would be a dream to play for them under Zinedine Zidane’s management.
Juventus were also believed to be keen on reuniting with Pogba but with the English transfer window now shut, a departure is highly unlikely.
The playmaking midfielder would’ve been a huge loss to United but Scholes insists there’s a way he can make up for his comments.
It’s not believed Pogba’s teammates despise him but there were reports they wanted him to leave as they only wanted committed players at the club.
According to the Daily Mail, Scholes said: “I think it [players wanting to leave] did happen, two or three times. It happened with Cristiano and Wayne so I think it’ll be accepted [Pogba’s comments].
“Paul is not a bad lad so as long as he is committed to the rest of the team and playing every week then there won’t be a problem.”
In the same way Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney put their transfer sagas behind them and proved their worth once more, Pogba must now do the same.
Hopefully Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be able to surround him with talented teammates, particularly in midfield as United look short in that position this season.
The former striker’s side was linked with moves for the likes of Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff but in the end none of them joined.
