It appears Inter Milan’s interest in Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has become more serious as reports claim the two clubs are set for a meeting.
The Belgian has been consistently linked with a move to the Serie A giants all summer long and it seems a transfer could happen after all.
The powerful striker is believed to be keen on playing for Antonio Conte and given how he’s second choice to Marcus Rashford at the moment, a move may be best for all parties.
Lukaku clearly wishes to be the main man of a team and be the main part of a project that appeals to him so a transfer makes sense.
However, the main bump in the road is the finances involved in the deal with United said to only be open to straightforward cash deals and nothing less than the number they’re asking for.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter’s director Piero Ausilio will be in London shortly with discussions over Romelu’s transfer set to take place over the next few hours.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to consider how to replace the former Everton man’s goals but given his praise for youngster Mason Greenwood, perhaps he feels he can get by without purchasing another striker.
