Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly given his seal of approval on Leicester City defender Harry Maguire as rumours continue to grow over a possible transfer.
The Englishman would certainly be an improvement on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current options but there are question marks over the price-tag.
It’s believed the Foxes rejected a £70m bid for the centre-back and it’s clear to see a world record fee for a defender is needed to move things along.
Fans are split over Maguire is worth that amount or whether they should push for it and secure a signing who could potentially resolve their backline issues.
Nonetheless, it’s transparent that any deal for the former Hull man will be complicated and it will take some time to make it happen.
According to Manchester Evening News, Sir Alex believes Harry is the ideal signing and believes the Red Devils should do everything they can to make the transfer happen although he is baffled why an approach for the Leicester star wasn’t made sooner.
England played in the UEFA Nations League this summer which may explain Solskjaer’s side’s lack of movement but that hasn’t stopped other teams from making their own transfers happen.
