Manchester United have reportedly, potentially had their interest turn concrete in their chase for Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder.
The Frenchman emerged as a surprise target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s with Romelu Lukaku said to be on his way out of the club.
United have had to search for replacements and the La Liga star quickly emerged as a possibility as it was revealed he has a €40m release clause.
Ben Yedder’s stats during the last season were impressive as he netted 30 times across all competitions, earning himself a call-up to France’s international side.
Should Lukaku leave then the 28 year old would certainly make up for the missing goals and potentially help Solskjaer to a top four spot.
According to Sport Witness, Estadio Deportivo report that interest in Wissam is now concrete and one of his suitors has made a proposal to Sevilla who are now studying it.
It’s unclear which interested party has made the move but it is understood that the Red Devils are currently the most serious candidate.
Given how Juventus and Napoli have suddenly become keen on Romelu as well, this may be Ole’s way of quickly securing a replacement in order to end the transfer saga as swiftly as possible.
