Bordeaux manager Paulo Sousa has spoken about the potential transfer of Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny after reportedly reaching an agreement with the player (via GFFN).
It’s a situation which is getting worse for Arsenal with each passing day as Laurent Koscielny’s future remains in doubt.
The centre-back refused to travel on the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the United States with the intention of forcing an exit from the club.
Koscielny reportedly wants to return to France and is said to have agreed on deals with a couple of Ligue 1 sides, something which one of the clubs’ managers has spoken about.
“He is a player that every team would like to have because of his experience, the quality of his play and everything that he represents in football,” said Bordeaux manager Paulo Sousa.
“We are in the market for central defenders because Jules Koundé has left and so we are looking for another player to replace him. All talks are ongoing but once again he is not our player.
“We are working hard to give ourselves the chance to have a player with his characteristics.”
It’s a troubling situation for the club. Laurent Koscielny is still the Arsenal captain but is refusing to take part in pre-season activities and is pushing hard for an exit. Let’s hope the club can come to some sort of arrangement soon because it is hurting pre-season preparation.
