Real Madrid’s board and manager Zinedine Zidane are starting to realise that a transfer for Paul Pogba this summer is virtually impossible, according to reports from Spain.
The Frenchman told reporters last month that he wanted a new challenge after spending three seasons at Old Trafford since his return from Juventus.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that he does not expect Pogba to go anywhere this summer, despite Mino Raiola’s later attempts to rock the boat by insisting on the club reaching a ‘solution’ with his client.
According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Real, the only club seriously interested in Pogba, have decided to back away from the deal due to United’s €200m valuation of the player – a clear indication that they have no interest in selling their talisman this summer.

Pogba has remained professional and upbeat since announcing his desire to leave United, playing a key role in pre-season wins over Perth Glory and Leeds United in Perth.
The 26-year-old is somewhat understandably disillusioned by the club’s lack of progress since his arrival, with United failing to match the quality of spending and strategy as seen at Liverpool or Manchester City, but will probably have to wait until next summer – when he will have just one year left on his contract – to secure a move elsewhere.
