Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has been linked with a surprise move to Everton.
According to claims from French news outlet RMC Sport, the Toffees have identified the Blues man as a possible transfer target in the closing stages of the window.
Everton are believed to be looking to replace Idrissa Gana Gueye, who is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Numerous options are under consideration, it seems, with Lyon star Lucas Tousart touted as a player who the Toffees admire, alongside Adrien Tameze of Nice, and Bakayoko.
The former Monaco player spent last season at AC Milan on loan and appeared to rediscover his best form, impressing in the heart of the midfield under Gennaro Gattuso.
However, Bakayoko has looked somewhat unconvincing in Chelsea’s pre-season fixtures so far, and he could yet be offloaded by Frank Lampard.
The Blues have a plethora of midfield options at their disposal, but having spent around £40 million on signing the 24-year-old in 2017, it is unlikely that they would be willing to let him leave for a cheap fee.
