Juventus have reportedly registered their interest in Manchester United target and Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt.
The Dutchman is the most wanted teenager in Europe at the moment after his performances in the Champions League caught the world by storm.
The youngster would’ve been the ideal signing for United given their defensive woes but the competition for him is fierce.
Barcelona and Real Madrid were both said to be in for De Ligt and so it dramatically decreases Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s chances.
The Norwegian will likely have to turn his attentions elsewhere after the Serie A side became the latest interested party.
According to the Mirror, Tuttosport report that Juventus have made a £75m bid for Matthijs, sparking serious concerns over the Red Devils’ ability to sign him.
The Italian side are capable of offering good wages, Champions League football and the likelihood of winning trophies.
Though first-team minutes may not be guaranteed, De Ligt would undoubtedly eventually take over from the likes of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgo Chiellini.
The experienced duo would also pass on important knowledge to the huge prospect who will become a better player as a result of it.
Matthijs’ future at this point is anyone’s guess but Manchester United don’t appear to have a real shot if these reports are true.
