Liverpool may reportedly end up ruining Manchester United’s transfer plans due to their interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese has started to reel in several top clubs with his performances initially catching Manchester City’s eye.
Since then United, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been said to join the race for the midfielder’s signature.
City are understood to have pulled out but the rest remain interested with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side arguably the most desperate.
The Red Devils’ need to bring in top talent to support Paul Pogba is apparent but it’s even more necessary to replace Ander Herrera‘s departure.
According to the Sun, Liverpool have moved into pole position for Bruno, taking advantage over Tottenham’s hesitancy and the player’s admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s tactical style.
Both clubs are capable of offering Champions League football which already gives them the advantage over Manchester United.
Tottenham’s hesitancy is believed to be over Christian Eriksen’s future so really at the moment it’s just Liverpool who are threatening Solskjaer’s side.
Reports have also emerged over Ed Woodward’s reluctance to spend big on a relatively untested player so the Reds could actually have a free run at signing Fernandes who would add goals to whichever side he joins.
