Chelsea are said to be reluctant to appoint Massimo Allegri this summer, with the club worried about bringing in a third consecutive Italian manager.
According to ESPN, Watford’s Javi Gracia has joined Frank Lampard on the shortlist of potential replacements, with Maurizio Sarri looking set for Juventus.
Gracia has won himself plenty of admirers at Stamford Bridge for the work he has done at Watford.
Sarri is now expected to be named as Allegri’s replacement in the near future, and a job swap situation has been suggested, with the former Old Lady manager now out of work.
Allegri was heavily linked with Chelsea before the club appointed Antonio Conte, but those behind the scenes have concerns about bringing in another Italian.
While Conte and Sarri have both won major trophies with the Blues, senior players have struggled during their tenures, with their philosophies and demands resulting in unrest within the squad.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has also been suggested as a possible replacement for Sarri.
