Chelsea have reportedly identified Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes as Eden Hazard’s long-term replacement and have offered £62m for the Portuguese international.
According to Plaza Deportiva, cited by the Daily Express, the Blues have made the offer for the winger through his agent Jorge Mendes.
The 22-year-old was one of Valencia’s standout performers last season, helping the club to a fourth-place finish in La Liga as well as the last four in the Europa League.
Guedes, who scored eight goals and provided four assists for Valencia last season, was also the hero for Portugal in the Nations League final against the Netherlands, with his second-half strike proving the difference between the two sides.
Chelsea have a two-window transfer ban looming over them this summer, however, the Blues have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the ruling.
In a best-case scenario, Chelsea will have their two-window transfer ban frozen this summer, meaning they can complete a potential deal for the impressive Guedes ahead of the new campaign.
