Arsenal are reportedly ready to open contract negotiation talks with Alexandre Lacazette amid interest from Spain (via The Standard).
He was Arsenal’s player of the season so it’s fair to say that most are keen on keeping hold of Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman has improved immensely during the last 12 months and chipped in with some crucial goals during the campaign.
So it was troubling to see the 28-year-old linked with the likes of FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in recent weeks.
In response to that, reports in England suggest that the Gunners are ready to open contract negotiations with the Frenchman in an effort to keep him at the club.
Lacazette still has three years remaining on the contract he signed after joining the Gunners from Lyon back in 2017.
It seems like a good decision from Arsenal. Too often, the club has been slow to renew the contracts of its best players. Alexandre Lacazette is certainly one of them and so tying him down to a longer deal would represent good business. Let’s hope things go smoothly because Arsenal can’t afford to let the 28-year-old go.
