Manchester United reportedly have an easy going plan to replace David de Gea should he decide to depart this summer.
The latest news on the Spaniard is that he has turned down the club’s final offer which will mean he’s likely to be sold in the coming months rather than allowing him to leave for free.
The goalkeeper’s current deal runs out next year with PSG said to be the most interested party in his signature.
There’s an argument to be made over why United took so long to offer De Gea a new contract but nonetheless they will now have to look replace him.
Many feel the former Atletico Madrid man is the best in the world in his position and so whoever fills his boots will likely struggle.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils will promote Sergio Romero to the number one spot whilst simultaneously keeping an eye on youngster Dean Henderson should David depart.
The Argentine has proven himself to be a more than capable rotational option and there’s no doubting he’s a quality professional.
Manchester United will miss De Gea’s talents regardless of who they replace him with so it makes a little sense to save their money to spend it on more urgent positions.
