Christian Eriksen is currently one of the best midfielders in the world and there is no doubt about that. He was always thought to be someone with potential during his days at Ajax. He spent four years at Ajax and won three Eredivisie during that time. He was then brought by Tottenham Hotspurs in the 2013/14 season with a fee of 11m pound. After his debut match for the club, the Spurs manager at the time André Villas-Boas commented, “It was a great debut for Christian, he is a pure number 10, a creative player and his individual quality made all the difference.” The Danish international has been playing for the London-based club since then and has been doing a fantastic job. However, now that the 27-year old only has over a year left in his contract with Spurs, he is not agreeing to resign for the club and is looking for a move. Even though Spurs has been playing fantastic in the last few years and has been qualifying for the Champions League in the last three seasons, they have failed to win trophies.
Tottenham look likely to demand £128 million for Denmark international Christian Eriksen.
Will it prove too much for Real Madrid?

Tottenham Hotspurs are only one or two matches away from finishing inside the top four in the Premier League and many sports betting fans are sure that the Spurs will play next season again in the Champions League. But it seems unlikely that Daniel Levy will get Eriksen to sign a new contract for the Spurs. Eriksen only has one season left in his current contract with Spurs but it will still be extremely hard for the others clubs to negotiate a price for him. Zidane was seen to be very interested to sign the star midfielder but now he seems to have shifted his mind towards Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. At the moment, it looks like Eriksen is a back-up choice for Zidane’s Real Madrid and only if they fail to land Pogba they will look to bring Eriksen.
Manchester United looks be another club who are very eager to bring the Dane midfielder. The Red Devils have been interested in him since the time of Luis Van Gal but they felt Eriksen wasn’t at the club’s level at the time. Things can change very quickly in football and now Eriksen is one of the best midfielders in the world and Manchester United are failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League. According to some reports, Daniel Levy has put on a staggering price tag of 60m pound on Eriksen for United even though he has only 1-year left in the contract. It’s mainly because he doesn’t want to sell to a rival club. On the other hand, Solskjaer is very keen on making Eriksen the central piece of the team in the next season for United. They are even willing to double the wage that he earns now in Spurs. The situation at the moment is a little complicated but at the end, Eriksen could decide to stay at Spurs and extend his contract.
Some other club could now come in suddenly and take Eriksen to them as well. Barcelona was heavily linked with him last season but the reports on that have faded now. As for now, Manchester United seem to be the favourites to sign the Danish 27-year old in the upcoming transfer window.
