Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Benfica teenager Joao Felix, who is also being monitored by Chelsea, the Evening Standard report.
The report suggests that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing the talented youngster to Old Trafford, along with fellow Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, as he looks to shake up his squad this summer.
The Blues have reportedly been monitoring the youngster in recent months, along with Manchester City and Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old has been described as the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’ by the Portuguese media and could cost any future buyer around £100m.
Felix has excelled for Benfica in his first full season in senior football, with the teenager scoring 13 times in 23 Liga Nos appearances.
Where Chelsea and Manchester United finish this season could play a key role in Felix’s future, with the player attracted to the possibility of playing Champions League football.
The Blues are currently in pole position to finish in the top four, with Maurizio Sarri knowing victories against Watford and Leicester would result in Champions League football returning to Stamford Bridge next season.
