Manchester United have been put under pressure by David de Gea after reports emerged of him potentially not extending his stay at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard has been the club’s best player since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and losing him is something they simply can’t afford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently undergoing his first summer transfer window in what will hopefully be a long and successful project of his.
United need to keep a hold of their best players whilst simultaneously investing in players who can bring them back to their best.
Many fans feel the club should do whatever they can to hold onto De Gea who would be near impossible to replace.
According to the Sun, David has turned down the Red Devils’ final contract offer, failing to meet his £350k a week demands that PSG are willing to match.
It seems the club hierarchy have now become more careful how they spend their money since Solskjaer’s arrival and it does make sense.
However, to an extent, De Gea should be an exception to the rule simply due to how talented he is and how he’s arguably the best in his position.
£350k doesn’t seem beyond Manchester United so it’s a little strange how they seemed to choose now to be the moment they make a stand.
