Manchester United are reportedly planning on making a new move for Atletico Madrid star and World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann.
It was previously believed that there’s no chance of the Frenchman strutting his stuff at Old Trafford after being linked with signing for them for a few seasons now.
The versatile attacker was said to be close to a transfer before but ended up confirming his extension with Atletico instead.
In what is sure to be a busy summer for United, they appear to be keen on finally getting their hands on Griezmann.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously said he’s keen on bringing in young, British talent but perhaps executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is the one pushing for the move.
According to Express, the Red Devils are plotting a third bid for Antoine as they’re willing to meet his £107m release clause with key figures believing the move will happen and he will be handed Alexis Sanchez’s number seven shirt to convince the player.
It’s certainly a huge chunk out of Solskjaer’s previously reported £200m budget for the summer but perhaps the transfer is too tempting to ignore.
Griezmann would definitely add star power to Manchester United’s attacks but what would that mean for the club’s reported other targets such as Daniel James or Bruno Fernandes?
