Manchester United reportedly still have some work to do in their efforts to sign Lyon star Moussa Dembele.
The Frenchman emerged as a transfer target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the event Romelu Lukaku would be sold and a replacement would be needed.
Though it’s not believed the Belgian is being actively sold, he is concerned over his future at Old Trafford and so may move elsewhere for a bigger role.
Inter Milan have been touted as the possible destination and it would leave Solskjaer in need of a striker who could provide the necessary goals to compete.
Some reports claimed United have already submitted a bid for Dembele and a move is close but now it appears those reports are false.
According to Sport Witness, L’Equippe report that Lyon are denying they’ve received any offers for Moussa just yet though they are expecting some to come in from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
This seems far more plausible given how there hasn’t been any real movement since the Red Devils were said to have been close on concluding the deal.
Given how Lukaku hasn’t been sold yet either, it makes little sense to have purchased Dembele when the former Chelsea man may still remain and Ole has more crucial areas in the team to address.
