Evra explains why Sanchez personifies problems at Man United

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra blasted the signing of Alexis Sanchez, claiming the club lost some of their history in concluding that deal.

The Frenchman spoke out publicly for the first time since leaving Old Trafford and he did not hold back in many aspects of the club.

One of the things he discussed was the signing of Sanchez, who he believes may have only joined for the sake of the money.

Evra has hardly ever spoken about United’s ongoings but after being spotted watching their fixtures of late, he decided to reveal his feelings towards his former side.

Alexis wasn’t the only one to be criticised but his poor performance since arriving from Arsenal have made him a bit of a scapegoat.

According to Sky Sports, Patrice said: “Some players only come for the money, I am not afraid to say that. I have nothing against him, but Sanchez, when I saw the deal, that’s when I thought the Manchester United history just went down.

“He had Manchester City, they were offering less money but he was going to play a better football than United – I’m sorry about that, but City play better football. Guardiola will also improve him.

“So I want to know what is the real reason for choosing United? Don’t tell me he loved Manchester United when he was a kid. It’s either the money or he wanted to be the number one, take the No 7 shirt and be the star.”

Sanchez recently apologised to Manchester United supporters after the conclusion of the season stating that while he wasn’t happy with his own form, some of it was down to unexpected injuries.

The Chilean may not even survive the summer given how reports have linked him with a move away despite his wages being a stumbling block.

It’s fair to say Alexis has been given plenty of time to make an impact at United but he has been a little unfortunate that he arrived at such a turbulent time.
